Iaso privacy policy

Iaso is made by Intrinsic Ninja (ABN 92386964622), Canberra, Australia. This policy says what data Iaso handles, why, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, ask through the contact form.

What I collect

Nothing you have to give it. Iaso has no accounts and no sign-up. The answers you give the finder — cover type, state, household, hospital tier, budget — are used to look up matching policies and aren’t stored against you. If you use recent searches, they live in your own browser.

Tips. If you leave a tip, Stripe handles the payment. I receive the amount, the currency and a Stripe reference — never your card number. Stripe emails you the receipt.

Enhancement requests. Whatever you type into the request form, plus the finder answers on the page you came from, arrives as an email to me. It has no name or email field, so I only know who you are if you tell me.

Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) and, on the web app, Google Analytics 4 usage data. Analytics is anonymised and I don’t use it to identify you.

What I don’t collect

• I never sell your data, and I never share it with anyone for marketing.
• I don’t use advertising trackers.
• I don’t buy data about you from anyone else.

How I use it

To find the policies that match your answers, to keep the site running and to see which steps of the finder people use and abandon. Never for advertising.

Where it’s stored

On servers in Australia. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed — I can’t read them.

Who else sees it

Nobody, except the services that host and run the app (the hosting provider; Google Analytics for anonymised web usage). I’ll only disclose personal information if the law requires it.

How long I keep it

Recent searches stay in your browser until you clear them. Tip records are kept for my accounting. Enhancement requests are kept until they’re dealt with. Server logs roll over within 90 days.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of your data, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it through the contact form. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you think I’ve handled your data badly — but please tell me first so I can fix it.

Children

Iaso isn’t designed for anyone under 16 and I don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes I’ll update the date at the top and, for anything significant, tell you in the app.
