Common questions · 01

Importing a bank statement

Which format?

CSV, exported from your bank’s website or app. Most Australian banks offer this under “Export” or “Download transactions”.

My import shows the wrong amounts or dates.

Some banks put dates in a different order or amounts in separate debit/credit columns. Email me the first three lines of the file (remove anything private) and I’ll fix the import for your bank.

Can I re-import the same statement?

Yes. Transactions already imported are skipped.

Account and sign-in

I’ve forgotten my password.

Use “Forgot password” on the sign-in screen. The reset email comes from Budgeteer.

Does the iPhone app use the same account as the web?

Yes — one account, both places.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete account, or email me. Everything is removed within 7 days.

Subscription

What does the subscription unlock?

Reports, the end-of-financial-year tax summary, and receipt scanning.

Where do I subscribe?

On the website at thebudgeteer.app. The iPhone app shows subscribed features once you’ve signed in.

How do I cancel?

Account settings on the website. Access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for.

iPhone and iPad app

Which iOS version?

iOS 26 or later.

The app says my features are locked.

Sign in with the account you subscribed with on the website. If it’s still locked, email me.
